Anzac Day Service
May
Early Anzac Day morning amongst the heavy dew Nova residents came together around the flagpole to pay respects and remember those who served for our country. Don Tomkinson, Chairman of the Residents Committee led a small ceremony joined with Joy Poustie who read a touching poem and Frank Creagh who laid the wreath.
After the ceremony, attendees retired to the cafe for a three course “gunfire” breakfast which included thoughtful elements symbolizing the experiences of our service men who fought at Anzac Cove.
Many places affected by the Perth & Peel lockdown were sadly unable to hold their traditional memorial services as they did their part to keep our State safe. It is times like these we are truly grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in this beautiful place we call home.
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
