A Trip Down Memory Lane
Jun
Many lovely memories were revisited for a group of local residents when they took a trip down memory lane at the recently reopened Busselton Museum. The Museum was damaged by fire and smoke in March 2018 and the heritage listed building has undergone a series of renovations since that time. Volunteers have worked tirelessly to restore, wash and fix many of the items to showcase the nostalgic memorabilia.
Museum volunteer and Nova resident, Delys Forrest has her wedding gown on display complete with a photo of her and husband Keith who married in 1956. The lace is exquisite and still in excellent condition. And a lovely surprise for fellow resident, Kate Jennings, who was reunited with her wedding bouquet after 51 years, the silk flowers which have stood the test of time are featured in the same display alongside Delys’ gown.
There is so much to see and enjoy. The Museum is open daily from 10am – 4pm, except Tuesdays.
